The Chi Alpha Chapter
Founded in 1972 at Clemson University, the Chi Alpha Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta is an IFC Fraternity founded on the values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality and Exellence. More commonly referred to as Fiji, the chapter exists to build lifelong friendships, uphold high ethical standards, and provide opportunities for personal development. The chapter's Greek name Chi Alpha relates to the city of Clemson (Chi) and the first chapter in the state of South Carolina (Alpha).
The chapter focuses on allowing its members to get the most out of their undergraduate years through academic exellence, leadership, networking, service, and becoming a Fiji Gentleman. In addition, the chapter provides members with a wide range social events including football tailgates, mixers, band parties, date nights, formals, and weekend trips. Our members are active on campus with involvement in the Calhoun Honors College, high-esteemed honors societies, IFC, Order of Omega, ROTC, club sports, intramurals, and many others.

Phi Gamma Delta
The organization was founded on May 1, 1848, at Jefferson College in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Six college students gathered in Fort Armstrong to establish a secret society. The founders, referred to by members as the "Immortal Six", were John Templeton McCarty, Samuel Beatty Wilson, James Elliott Jr., Ellis Bailey Gregg, Daniel Webster Crofts, and Naaman Fletcher.
Phi Gamma Delta does not use the term alumni for members who have graduated; post collegiate members are referred to as Graduate Brothers, to imply that membership extends past the undergraduate experience. Similarly, one of the mottoes used by the organization is, "Not For College Days Alone".
Phi Gamma Delta's mission statement lists five core values for its members: friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence. In addition, members are encouraged to live by three priorities in a specific order: first, scholarship, second, fraternity, and third, self. This ordering is because members attend university with the foremost goal of receiving an education, and that Phi Gamma Delta is a fraternity that promotes scholastic achievement amongst its members.
